Sarah Giboney

Owner/Personal Trainer


I believe that a healthy lifestyle is the catalyst to a happy life. Experience has proven to me that there is a SAFE ENTRY point for all persons when it comes to physical activity and as the owner/operator and head personal trainer at Foundation Fitness I am dedicated to helping my members find this point. I not only provide a comfortable environment, our personal training and fitness classes utilize approaches that incorporate appropriate physical activity, moderate nutrition practices and rest so my clients improve their health outcomes, vitatlity and longevity.

My facility does not cater to the body builder, but rather to regular folks like myself who are not athletes or fitness models. I provide Foundational and Functional Fitness equipment and classes that provide options for all persons to be active no matter your strengths or limitations. The space is never over crowded, always clean and has other members just like you – just like me. Those seeking a healthy lifestyle without extreme approaches in a space they feel comfortable. We offer a 3 day Free Trial to allow you to try before you buy. Don’t let your dislike of average gyms keep you from walking in the door. So many members mention – “I thought I hated gyms. Not this one!”

Along with the memberships, we offer personal and small group training. My clients find that I have a valuable perspective to share as I am no stranger to the obstacles and setbacks that our culture can bring both physically and emotionally. Proper nutrition and physical activity have not always been a part of my daily life. I took a leap of faith when I left my secure career to pursue this dream of being a fitness professional and have found that there is no substitute for seeing members and clients reach goals and feel great about themselves. By sharing my knowledge, experiences and ideas to help others achieve higher levels of well being, I too improve my happiness. It’s a cycle that I thrive on…you will too.

My education includes a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Business and Health Promotion and various fitness instruction certifications including TRX Suspension Training. I’ve worked with over 200 clients over the past 8 years and my first client is still a current client. I am Type I Diabetic which opens me up to helping others like working to manage their blood sugar and their loved ones understand the disease and use healthy habits to improve our health outcomes. I have experience working with persons with sight limitations, hearing limitations, memory issues/dementia/Alzheimer’s, hip and knee replacements, general posture issues and cancer surviors, as well as, folks interested in losing weight, lowering cholesterol and blood pressure.

I’m open to working with ANY person who wants to improve their health. My fitness approach is All Things in Moderation and I promise you we’ll work together to find your healthy balance. I want to help you make feeling great a reality.

I chose a job I love and I enjoy watching my clients progress towards their goals. I am fortunate to be part of my client’s individual journeys.

Having an Active IQ Level 3 Diploma in Personal Training opened the door to working in one of the biggest gyms in Ukraine called Sportlife where I gained a great deal of professional experience due to the diverse group of clients that I helped.

I am a champion for mindful self-awareness and self-care. I am a master trainer and hold multiple fitness certifications most of which I received before becoming a Registered Nurse. I have helped a lot of people! Pilates Mat allows me to bring in real world applications for building a strong core, using breathing techniques to reduce stress and access deep core muscles, and to improve balance and flexibility. As a Health and Wellness Coach I encourage clients as they identify what they’re ready to change now and celebrate their weekly successes in order to help them stay accountable and motivated to make and maintain long-term healthy changes. I am also a creative person who danced professionally in NYC (a while ago now! ;)) and appreciate time with my family and dearest friends, art, dance, theater, reading, writing, gardening and travel.

I am a senior at Park University studying Psychology with a minor in Criminal Justice. I am very passionate about mental health and the overall well-being of others. I know that having a balanced lifestyle that includes exercise is one of many ways to help aid the effects of mental health problems. Working at Foundation Fitness has provided me that push that I need to stay on top of my fitness goals. Sarah provides a positive atmosphere that encourages you and others to push yourself to reach your full potential.

When I’m not working (or working out) I am studying for classes, hanging out with my friends, or spending time with my family. I also spend time with my Little Sister through BBBSKC. I have a heart for children, and mentoring my Little has been a wonderful experience. If you see me at the gym, come say hi! I am always happy to chat with our members.

Melodee Reigel

After returning to the mid-west, having been spoiled by the moderate California weather and leading an active outdoor lifestyle, I found myself working out at that “gym I would never join”. Suprising even myself, the workout bug bit me and I now happlily combine the gym workouts with my outdoor pleasures which include cycling, walking, hiking, swimming and even fishing. Following a skydiving accident that required me to approach my workouts in a different manner I developed a great passion and desire to help others and have launched a career in leading group fitness. I am Piyo, R.I.P.P.E.D. and Zumba certified and I am currently pursuing other fitness certifications that will allow me to specialize in working with older adults, people with injuries or disabilities and the youth community. I am especially fond of coaching baseball which I did while my son was growing up and still enjoy giving a few lessons here and there and passing the knowledge onto my grandchildren.

Over the past few years I have done numerous 5Ks, 10Ks, sprint triathalons and duathalons. Following my injury, Yoga played a big role in overcoming my limitations and getting back on track. Because of that, I want to help others in the same manner it helped me and am now studying at KCFitnessLink, School of Yoga, Massage, Nutrition and Holistic Health and am leading Yoga practices here at Foundation Fitness in addition to my responsibilities in helping maintain a friendly, happy and clean atmosphere at this facility. One of the best kept in the city!!

I believe that athletes come in all shapes, sizes and ages and I encourage those new to fitness to remember that we were all there once so not to let that deter you from the feel good stuff working out can offer. I welcome walkers, hikers and cyclists and those interested in trying group fitness to join me regardless of experience level as I love to introduce newbies to these activities and watch their abilities and self-confidence grow.
